Ingredients
  

Salmon: 14.75 oz canned salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 ½ cups cooked salmon, flaked)

Egg: 1 large egg, lightly beaten

Onion: ¼ cup finely chopped onion

Breadcrumbs: ½ cup plain breadcrumbs (or substitute with crushed crackers for extra crunch)

Salt and Pepper: ½ teaspoon each, to taste

Parsley: 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon, for a subtle tang

Oil for Frying: About 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil or olive oil

Instructions
 

Prepare the Salmon

  • Drain the canned salmon thoroughly and flake it with a fork in a mixing bowl. If using fresh salmon, ensure it’s fully cooked and flake it into small pieces.

Combine Ingredients

  • Add the beaten egg, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, parsley, and lemon juice to the salmon. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. The mixture should be moist yet firm enough to hold its shape.

Form Patties

  • Scoop a small handful of the mixture and gently shape it into a patty. Aim for a thickness of about ½ inch, which ensures even cooking. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil. Allow it to heat up until shimmering, which will prevent sticking and promote even browning.

Cook the Patties
