Method
 

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your 9x13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and optional cloves. Set aside.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil, applesauce, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
